The Pennsylvania Highlands Police Academy is inviting prospective cadets to a series of open house events at the College's Richland Campus.
These sessions are scheduled for March 30 and April 16, 2026, each commencing at 4 p.m. in Room A143.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Police Academy staff and gain comprehensive insights into the application process, pre-screening requirements, and the Academy's curriculum.
Guided tours of the facilities will also be provided.
Representatives from Financial Aid and Admissions will be available to address any questions.
The Penn Highlands Police Academy is a certified unit of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission (Act 120).
Successful completion of the program enables graduates to test for a Commonwealth Municipal Police Training (MPT) number, a requirement for all municipal police officers in Pennsylvania.

Additionally, the Pennsylvania State Police is accepting applications for its 2026 Law and Leadership Academy, a free 15-week program running from May to August.
This program is designed for individuals 18 years or older who have graduated from high school or earned a GED and are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement.
Participants will experience training similar to that of cadets, including educational and physical fitness components, within a structured paramilitary environment.
The curriculum covers traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, and other police resources, along with essential skills such as time and stress management, self-discipline, and teamwork.
Applications are open until April 3, 2026, with programs available in locations including Wilkes-Barre, Hershey, State College, Philadelphia, Greensburg, and Erie.
