Ron’s Tire Sales Rolls Into Bigger Home to Fuel Growth |
Family business founded in 1979 expands to Southmont Boulevard, adding space, services, and a third generation of family leadership |
After more than three decades on Atlantic Street, Ron’s Tire Sales LLC is hitting the road for a new address — and a new chapter. The longtime family-owned shop will open Monday at 120 Southmont Boulevard, offering expanded tire services and a broader selection of brands, co-owners Victor and Nancie D’Alimonte announced. “My dad, Ron Sottile, started the business when he got out of the Navy in 1979,” said Nancie (Sottile) D’Alimonte. “While most of our family worked in steel mills, Dad built his business from a pickup truck, selling tires wholesale to area garages.” As the steel industry declined, Sottile’s small operation evolved into a full-service retail and tire-changing business at 136 Atlantic Street in Stonycreek Township. That shop opened in 1991, where the family continued to serve local customers faithfully for 35 years before outgrowing the space. Sottile retired in 2005, passing the torch to Nancie and her husband, Victor. Today, their daughter, Lacy D’Alimonte, represents the family’s third generation in the business. At the Atlantic Street shop, employees often worked outside due to limited space, changing tires in all weather conditions. The new 18,000-square-foot Southmont Boulevard facility — more than triple the size of the old shop — will finally bring all tire-changing operations under one roof. “We decided to move so we could keep offering the same great service in a larger, more convenient location,” said Victor D’Alimonte. “And no more changing tires in the cold and rain.” Beyond comfort, the new building — formerly home to Breezeline’s offices — allows Ron’s Tire Sales to expand its product offerings and hire additional staff to serve customers faster. “We’ve been renovating for nearly a year, and it’s so rewarding to see this come together,” Nancie said. “We’ll be able to carry more brands, serve more people, and keep quality and speed our top priorities.” Community involvement remains central to the company’s mission. Each year, Ron’s Tire Sales donates to local organizations including the St. Vincent de Paul Family Kitchen, the Cambria County Humane Society, and Toys for Tots. The D’Alimontes plan to celebrate the move with a grand reopening in April. “We’ll have food trucks, music, and some giveaways — including sets of tires,” Victor said. “It’s going to be a big shindig.” |
