Penn Cambria turned a difficult first half into a memorable comeback Friday night, rallying past Westmont Hilltop 27-22 at Price Field in Johnstown.

The Panthers entered halftime trailing by nine after three first-half turnovers helped Westmont Hilltop build an advantage. Penn Cambria responded by leaning on its ground game, and senior running back Corbin Vinglish delivered a standout performance. Vinglish finished with 231 rushing yards and four touchdowns, helping the Panthers erase the deficit and secure the road victory.

The win moved Penn Cambria to 4-2 and continued a strong stretch for a program that has won 14 of its past 18 games. Vinglish has also remained productive on both sides of the ball, emerging as one of the team’s leading rushers and tacklers this season.

Next up, the Panthers travel to Chestnut Ridge on Friday, Oct. 9, for a 7 p.m. matchup as the regular season moves deeper into October.

For Cambria County football fans, the comeback offered everything that makes a Friday night rivalry game memorable: adversity, a big second-half response and a local senior stepping up when his team needed him most.
