Cambria County Nonprofit Closes Programs Amid Budget Impasse |
Community Action Partnership Halts Services Due to Funding Shortfall |
The ongoing budget impasse at both federal and state levels has forced the Community Action Partnership of Cambria County to suspend several vital programs, leaving many local families without essential services.
In a recent announcement, the organization stated that while their WIC and Head Start programs will continue, other services such as Pre-K Counts, Diaper Bank, Utility Assistance, Homelessness Assistance, and Coats for Kids are on hold indefinitely.
“We understand the impact this will have on the thousands of people we serve in Cambria County,” the nonprofit expressed, acknowledging the hardship these closures impose on the community.
The financial strain has also led to significant staff reductions, with many employees facing furloughs or layoffs. The organization's Main Street office now operates solely to support the WIC program.
“We know how deeply these services matter to the families we serve, and we share in your frustration and concern,” the statement continued. “Our team is doing everything possible to advocate for a quick resolution and to minimize disruptions.”
Community members are encouraged to stay informed about program updates through the organization's official channels.
