Downtown Johnstown to Host Free New Year’s Eve Celebration to Welcome 2026

The community is invited for a full evening of live music, fire performers, family activities, and a fireworks finale at Peoples Natural Gas Park.

Get ready to ring in the new year, Johnstown.

A massive, free-to-the-public New Year's Eve party is set to take over the heart of the city.

Celebration Johnstown, in partnership with the Discover Downtown Partnership and Heritage Johnstown, has announced an exciting lineup for “A Bright New Year.”

The event promises an unforgettable night for residents of all ages.

The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. on December 31 inside the Community Foundation Oilhouse.

This year, the Downtown Johnstown to host free New Year’s Eve celebration is centered around family fun from the very start.

From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Cambria County Library will facilitate children's crafts and games, complete with face painting and a special appearance by Moonbeam the clown.

For those seeking a bit of classic holiday charm, Misty Haven Carriage Rides of Davidsville will offer horse-drawn carriage rides starting at 5 p.m. for a small fee.

The energy is expected to build as the sun sets.

At 6 p.m., the daring fire-twirling troupe Flow N’at will put on a spectacular show on the lawn outside the Oilhouse.

A cash bar will also open at 6 p.m. for adult attendees, with ID required for all alcohol purchases.

The live music begins at 7 p.m. with an acoustic set from local singer-songwriter Jeff Perigo, a staple in the region’s music scene known for his blend of folk, blues, and rock.

Later in the evening, at 8:30 p.m., local band Silver Screen will take the stage, bringing their signature grunge and alternative rock sound that has earned them a dedicated following.

It’s a powerful showcase of Johnstown’s homegrown musical talent.

As the clock ticks closer to midnight, DJ Seoulsonic will spin a wide array of music starting at 10 p.m. to keep the party going.

The night will culminate with a community countdown to welcome 2026, followed by a brief but brilliant fireworks display to light up the sky over Peoples Natural Gas Park.

This free event is a testament to the collaborative spirit revitalizing our city's core, offering a safe and vibrant way for everyone to celebrate together.
