Local organizations receive vital support through community-driven initiatives |
Several nonprofit organizations in Cambria County have received a significant financial boost, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the East Hills Business Association (EHBA).
On Tuesday, EHBA distributed funds during an event held at 814 Lanes and Games, underscoring their commitment to supporting local causes.
EHBA, comprising businesses serving the East Hills region of Johnstown, PA, is devoted to fostering positive economic growth and community engagement.
The association meets monthly, organizing activities such as selling 50/50 tickets and hosting an annual fundraiser to generate funds.
Mid-year, EHBA invites local nonprofits to submit applications detailing their specific needs and the amount of funding required.
After a thorough review, the raised funds are distributed among the applicants, ensuring that resources are allocated where they are most needed.
EHBA encourages more nonprofits to apply, aiming to broaden their impact within the community.
In addition to EHBA's efforts, the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies recently awarded nearly $600,000 in grants to 108 projects during its Fall 2025 Grant Round, with 44 projects in Cambria County receiving support.
These initiatives highlight the region's strong commitment to supporting nonprofit organizations and enhancing community well-being.
