Ebensburg Honors Veterans with Memorial Day Parade and Community Tribute

Classic cars, marching music, and local groups to mark the annual remembrance

Ebensburg will host its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 25, beginning at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.

The ceremony will follow a parade scheduled for 10:30 a.m. If bad weather forces a cancellation of the outdoor procession, the ceremony will instead be held indoors at 10:30 a.m. at Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, located at 200 North Center Street.

Organizers emphasize the importance of community participation in honoring those who have served. “Anything people can do to help remember the men and women who have sacrificed is appreciated,” said Bob Slebodnick, commander of VFW Post 4963. He noted that the event pays tribute to service members from the American Revolution through today’s military.

Around 20 local organizations are expected to take part, including veterans, scouting groups, youth sports teams, classic vehicle enthusiasts, and the Central Cambria Marching Band.

Participants should check in and line up between 9 and 9:45 a.m. at the Ebensburg Public Library on Highland Avenue.

The event is sponsored by the Ebensburg Main Street Partnership, VFW Post 4963, American Legion Post 363, and the Dauntless Fire Company.
