One Year In, Northern Cambria's Just Love Coffee Cafe Is Already Changing Lives!

They Grew Up Here. Now They're Giving Back - One Cup at a Time.

Mike and Karin Vasil are high school sweethearts who did what a lot of us dream about — they stayed, raised their kids here, and decided to invest in the town that raised them.

When their four children — Benjamin, Mara, Meghan, and Lainey — were growing up, Northern Cambria was home. And as Mike and Karin looked ahead to life as empty nesters, they didn't want to slow down. They wanted to show up for their community in a bigger way.

That's how Just Love Coffee Cafe came to Northern Cambria.

"Just Love Coffee felt like the right move to combine our love for our town, our love for coffee, and our love for our community," Mike and Karin have shared. They opened their doors on May 20, 2025, and in less than a year, they've built something Cambria County didn't know it was missing.

Walk in on any weekday morning and you'll likely find locals catching up over lattes, a young staffer learning the ropes behind the counter, and the smell of fresh-roasted coffee filling the room. The walls carry the words "Drink, Love, Cambria." — a reminder that this place was built for the people who live here.

The coffee itself is no afterthought. Just Love roasts their beans in small batches, sourcing them ethically and organically. Their roasts have earned national recognition, including a "Roaster of the Year" nod. But you won't hear a lot of fuss about that from Mike and Karin. They'd rather talk about the people who walk through the door.

The menu surprises first-time visitors. Almost everything — from breakfast omelets to lunch sandwiches — is made using a waffle iron, giving familiar food an unexpected twist. And if you haven't tried a "Fizzy" yet — that's their flavored soda with cream — you're missing out on something your kids will ask about for weeks.

Just Love Coffee also has roots in adoption support. The cafe's national brand was founded with a mission to help offset the real and significant costs of adoption. Locally, non-profits and families can partner with the cafe through an affiliate program that puts 20% of coffee sales directly back toward their cause. It's a quiet way that a morning coffee run becomes something bigger.

On May 30 and 31, 2026, the Vasils are throwing a first-anniversary celebration with specials on coffee beans and select beverages. If you've been meaning to stop in, this is your weekend.

Eat local. Support local. Stop by Just Love Coffee Cafe, 2611 Bigler Avenue in Northern Cambria and see what a cup of coffee can do.
