Details about the trailhead challenge and trail photo contest

Cambria County is set to launch its second annual Trailhead Challenge, inviting both residents and visitors to explore the region's extensive hiking trails.

The challenge runs from May 1 to November 2, encompassing 29 trailheads across the Ghost Town Trail, C&I Extension, Path of the Flood Trail, Jim Mayer Riverwalk Trail, and Firefighters Memorial Trail.

Participants are encouraged to visit each trailhead, capturing a photo at the designated identifier. These photos can be submitted via Facebook Messenger to the Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority. Each complete submission enters participants into a drawing for a $250 gift card from Vale Wood Farms and Up-N-Running.

An official kickoff event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, at 10:15 a.m. at the Ghost Town Trail along Prave Street in Ebensburg. The event will feature representatives from the Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority, Commissioner Tom Chernisky, local businesses, and CamTran.

For more information on the Trailhead Challenge and Cambria County's hiking trails, interested individuals can contact the Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority directly.
