Mount Aloysius Mounties Shoutout: Students Rescue Lost Dog |
Four Mount Aloysius students exemplify community spirit by reuniting a lost dog with its owner. |
On a chilly, rain-soaked Friday afternoon, a local resident from Cresson arrived at Mount Aloysius College in search of her grandson's missing dog, Sadie.
She encountered a compassionate student who promptly rallied friends to assist in the search.
Mounties Erika Alexander, Lakin Baker, Sara Borlie, and Lilly Cypher dedicated several hours scouring the campus grounds.
Eventually, they discovered Sadie, cold and frightened, ensuring she was safe and warm until her owner could return.
Despite being offered a generous reward, the students declined, expressing that their joy came from reuniting Sadie with her family.
In recognition of their selfless act, President John McKeegan surprised the students with bookstore gift cards, commending them for embodying the college's Mercy values.
Mount Aloysius College has a history of fostering a supportive and community-oriented environment.
Recently, the college was recognized as a 2024 Great College to Work For, highlighting its commitment to mission and pride, confidence in senior leadership, shared governance, professional development, and compensation and benefits.
Additionally, the college's athletic programs have demonstrated excellence both on and off the field.
The Mounties secured the 2025 Institutional Peak Performer Award from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, with over 66% of student-athletes achieving Academic All-Conference status.
These accolades reflect the college's dedication to academic and athletic excellence.
Let's give a heartfelt shoutout to Lilly, Lakin, Erika, and Sara for their kindness and community spirit! |
