Runners and walkers alike are invited to experience an unforgettable race setting at the Johnstown Airport this summer. The “Run the Runway” 5K offers participants the rare opportunity to move across an active airfield while supporting a meaningful cause. Scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, the event begins with registration from 7:00 to 8:55 a.m., followed by a 9:00 a.m. race start. Located at 220 Fox Run Road in Johnstown, the course delivers a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations in a way few ever experience. This event is made possible through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, adding a distinctive touch to an already memorable race. Designed for all fitness levels, the course welcomes both competitive runners and casual walkers. Proceeds from the race benefit Aerium, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening aviation-driven innovation and regional economic development.
