Slippery Rock University sophomore Logan Gossard, a Richland High School graduate, has been honored as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Male Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
At the recent Haynes Lancaster Open, Gossard achieved a personal best in the pole vault, clearing 4.95 meters. This performance not only met the NCAA provisional standard but also elevated him to the second spot in the PSAC rankings, trailing only his teammate, Drew Layton, the conference's all-time record holder.
Gossard's mark currently places him ninth among all Division II pole vaulters nationwide, underscoring his significant progress and potential in the sport.
Reflecting on his achievement, Gossard expressed gratitude for the support from his coaches and teammates, emphasizing the collective effort that contributed to his success.
Looking ahead, Gossard aims to build on this momentum as the indoor season progresses, with aspirations to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships and continue representing Slippery Rock University at the highest levels.
