Learn about safe driving course options and how to benefit from a car insurance discount |
Residents of Cambria County aged 55 and older have an opportunity to enhance their driving skills and secure a car insurance discount through the upcoming "Seniors for Safe Driving" course.
State Representative Frank Burns is organizing this event, scheduled for June 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ebensburg Municipal Building on West High Street. The course fee is $17.
This classroom-only session focuses on boosting driver confidence, increasing awareness, and promoting safe driving habits. Notably, participants will receive a 5% discount on their car insurance for three years, a benefit mandated by Pennsylvania law and recognized by all insurance providers in the state.
Interested individuals should RSVP by contacting Representative Burns' district offices at (814) 472-8021 for Ebensburg or (814) 536-8400 for Johnstown. A valid driver's license is required at registration, and space is limited.
For those unable to attend, several PennDOT-approved online courses are available, such as those offered by Safe2Drive and Road Review. These programs also provide the 5% insurance discount upon successful completion. ([safe2drive.com]
