State Rep. Frank Burns Partners with Toys for Tots to Brighten Holidays for Cambria County Children |
Unwrapped toy donations accepted through December 5 at district offices |
In a heartfelt effort to bring holiday cheer to underprivileged children in Cambria County, State Representative Frank Burns has announced his annual collaboration with the Toys for Tots program.
Residents are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys at either of Rep. Burns' district offices until December 5.
The Johnstown office is located at 535 Fairfield Ave. in Lower Yoder Township, and the Ebensburg office can be found at 123 W. High St.
Emphasizing the importance of this initiative, Rep. Burns stated, "Today more than ever, the mission of bringing hope and joy to all kids at Christmas is an important one."
He highlighted the program's origins, noting, "This mission began after World War II when the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve started Toys for Tots, and today’s high prices and tight budgets mean we need to do what we can to continue it."
For those seeking additional ways to contribute, the Southern Cambria and Somerset County Toys for Tots campaign is aiming to serve 3,000 children and collect 12,000 toys this year.
Community members can get involved by hosting donation boxes, becoming media partners, including the program in events, or donating toys and funds.
Details are available on the official Toys for Tots website.
Residents with questions can contact Rep. Burns' Johnstown office at 814-536-8400 or the Ebensburg office at 814-472-8021.
Additionally, information and assistance with various state programs and services, including PennDOT and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, are available at Burns' local offices.
By participating in this toy drive, the community can help ensure that every child in Cambria County experiences the joy and magic of the holiday season. |
