Superloads to Cause Delays on Route 36 in Cambria County |
Windmill Blade Transports Scheduled for September 15 and 19 |
Motorists traveling through Cambria County should prepare for potential delays on Route 36 due to the transport of superloads carrying windmill blades.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that these oversized loads will be moving through the area on Monday, September 15, and Friday, September 19.
Each transport is scheduled to begin at approximately 9 a.m., with subsequent loads at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on both days.
These superloads will traverse U.S. 219 in Somerset County before proceeding onto Route 36 in Cambria County.
Given the size and weight of these loads, drivers can expect significant traffic disruptions.
Each convoy will occupy two lanes and travel at reduced speeds, potentially causing rolling roadblocks and extended travel times.
To minimize inconvenience, PennDOT advises motorists to remain vigilant for slow-moving traffic and consider alternative routes during these periods.
These transports are part of ongoing efforts to deliver windmill components to the CPV Rouge's Wind facility in Cambria County.
For real-time traffic updates and road conditions, drivers are encouraged to visit the 511PA website or use the 511PA mobile app.
Staying informed will help ensure a smoother travel experience during these scheduled transports. |
