Cambria Coffee Roasters (Ebensburg)
Our county seat just got a little more caffeinated! Located at 214 W. High Street in downtown Ebensburg, Cambria Coffee Roasters officially opened its doors on August 5, 2026. Founder and head roaster Marcus Miller, a Cambria County native with a decade of specialty coffee experience, returned home to fill a much-needed gap for locally roasted, single-origin beans and artisanal espresso drinks. "I’ve loved watching Ebensburg’s downtown thrive over the last few years, but I kept hearing neighbors say they had to drive out of town for freshly roasted specialty coffee," Marcus shared. "Cambria County has such a rich history of craftsmanship, and we wanted to bring that same hands-on dedication to every cup we brew right here on High Street." Beyond their signature small-batch roasts and homemade pastries, the cozy shop features a community table made from reclaimed local hemlock and showcases rotating artwork from area high school students. Owner Tyler Kovach—an avid local angler, hiker, and lifelong Portage resident—opened the shop to cater to sports enthusiasts exploring the nearby Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site and surrounding trails. "Portage is surrounded by incredible state parks and hiking routes, but locals used to have to drive at least 25 minutes just to get basic camping gear, live bait, or trail equipment," Tyler said. "I wanted to give our community a local shop where you can pick up reliable gear, get real-time fishing advice, and talk story with folks who actually know these trails inside and out."
