State Representative Frank Burns is championing a new bipartisan bill requiring all American flags bought and displayed by the Commonwealth to be fully made in the United States.
The proposed House Bill 2003 aims to protect local jobs and support Pennsylvania’s economy, ensuring the nation’s flag stands for American values like fair labor and skilled craftsmanship.
This initiative echoes recent laws, such as the All-American Flag Act and Senate Bill 784, which mandate the exclusive use of U.S.-made flags and materials in both federal and state purchases.
Burns, also behind the “American Made Jobs Plan,” emphasizes reducing dependence on foreign goods and boosting opportunities for local workers.
Recently, his House Bill 1018 passed with strong bipartisan favor, requiring state-funded construction to use American-made steel—a move now awaiting Senate action.
These legislative efforts highlight a united push to reinforce American manufacturing and safeguard family-sustaining jobs across the state. Read More... |
