State Representative Frank Burns is championing a new bipartisan bill requiring all American flags bought and displayed by the Commonwealth to be fully made in the United States.

The proposed House Bill 2003 aims to protect local jobs and support Pennsylvania’s economy, ensuring the nation’s flag stands for American values like fair labor and skilled craftsmanship.

This initiative echoes recent laws, such as the All-American Flag Act and Senate Bill 784, which mandate the exclusive use of U.S.-made flags and materials in both federal and state purchases.

Burns, also behind the “American Made Jobs Plan,” emphasizes reducing dependence on foreign goods and boosting opportunities for local workers.

Recently, his House Bill 1018 passed with strong bipartisan favor, requiring state-funded construction to use American-made steel—a move now awaiting Senate action.

These legislative efforts highlight a united push to reinforce American manufacturing and safeguard family-sustaining jobs across the state.

Blake Lilly powered the Penn Cambria Panthers to a stunning 33-6 victory over Huntingdon, securing their second straight District 6 Class 3A championship at Mansion Park.

After taking a break his sophomore year, Lilly returned with explosive energy Friday night, igniting the scoreboard and the crowd.

The senior dazzled with an 89-yard punt return for Penn Cambria’s first touchdown, followed by a 51-yard touchdown catch and a 37-yard interception return that set up another score.

Coach Jason Grassi credited Lilly’s big plays for building a halftime lead even as Huntingdon controlled possession early but failed to capitalize.

Quarterback Brady Jones highlighted his trust in Lilly’s playmaking ability throughout the game.

With a 10-2 record, Penn Cambria now advances to face Brockway in the PIAA playoffs, while Huntingdon finishes the season 8-4.

Looking for a new best friend? This week, we're delighted to feature Murphy, an American Pit Bull Terrier Female Dog from the Humane Society of Cambria County who is eagerly awaiting a forever home!

About : Murphy

  • Age: estimated age 2years 11months
  • Gender: Female
  • Weight: 53.3 lbs.

  • Adoption Fee:

  • Why Murphy Needs You: "Murphy is a 2.5-year-old Pit Bull who has been through so much in her young life. From initially being abandoned at the Murphy Inn to finally going home and believing she had stability once again, then coming back to our shelter at no fault of her own. November 2024 is when Murphy came to us at first and has been at HSCC ever since with just 24 hours outside of the shelter before she came back. Murphy is a misunderstood girl who doesn't present her best self inside her kennel. When given the chance, outside of her kennel, Murphy is a different girl altogether.

Murphy is just like any other energetic dog. She loves to play when she has the zoomies outside. When she's tired out, she enjoys laying in the grass soaking up the sun or just hanging out beside her trusted human. Murphy needs her second chance with someone who is willing to be patient and get to know the real Murphy. Murphy loves attention from her trusted human(s) so much, that she would most likely present her best self with no other animals or small children around.

She's a beautiful girl, ready to be the loyal companion to someone who is willing to be patient and give her the second chance she deserves.!"

How to Adopt Murphy:

If Murphy sounds like the perfect addition to your family, don't hesitate!

  • Visit the Humane Society: Murphy is currently staying at the Humane Society of Cambria County located at 743 Galleria Dr Ext, Johnstown, PA 15904.

  • Learn More & Apply: You can view Murphy's full profile and learn more about the adoption process by visiting the Humane Society's website: https://www.humanecambria.org/adoptable-animals/
