Labor Day Weekend Brings Festivals, Food and Family Fun

Cambria County is heading into Labor Day weekend with five upbeat, family-friendly happenings.

Northern Cambria kicks off the weekend. The Colts host Purchase Line on September 4 at 7 p.m., giving families a way to support local student-athletes. Game details
Johnstown’s Cambria City Ethnic Festival runs September 4–6. The free celebration fills the neighborhood with live music, traditional foods, vendors, church tours, and a Bottle Works Kidz Zone featuring children’s arts and crafts. Festival schedule
Ebensburg keeps “shop local” momentum growing at its Farmers Market on September 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. Penn Eben Park will welcome growers and makers offering fresh produce and homemade goodies.
The Forest Hills Labor Day Festival begins September 5 at 11 a.m. Local craftspeople, food vendors, live entertainment, and fireworks make this an inviting stop for residents and visitors exploring southeastern Cambria County.
Cresson Lake turns back the clock September 5 with a free ’90s Night from 6:30–10 p.m. Nostalgic music and decade-themed fun offer another lively reason to explore the county.

A Lasting Legacy of Literacy for Cambria County Kids

Cambria County recently took a moment to reflect on the immense impact of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which has officially gifted over 193,000 free books to local children from birth to age 5. Originally brought to the area through local efforts and hosted out of Saint Francis University in Loretto, the program gave thousands of our youngest neighbors the priceless gift of early reading and a lifelong love for books!
